INFRARED IMAGING IS:

SAFE– Although Equipment is scanned while in operation, this is a non-invasive procedure. Frequently the scanning is done several yards away from equipment.

CONVENIENT– Because Infrared Scanning is done while equipment is in operation, the service requires no machine downtime.

RELIABLE- Scanning, when performed by qualified technicians familiar with the equipment, is a reliable and accurate indication of the condition of a facility’s systems and equipment.

COST EFFECTIVE- While the cost of scanning varies with size and complexity, very large facilities can be scanned in one or two days. The cost for each piece of equipment scanned is very small and can be a miniscule percentage of the value of equipment. The leverage of this cost to the value of equipment and unscheduled outage is very high. Another value is in knowing what does and does not require attention during valuable site shutdown time. And even if hot spots are not found, isn’t this reassuring to know?

INFRARED IMAGING IS A MAINTENANCE TOOL:

Thermal imaging is a valuable tool in preventive maintenance of electrical, mechanical and structural systems, able to help detect problems, prevent unscheduled downtime, guide needed corrective action and increase plant safety. Infrared survey’s are increasingly being relied upon to detect heat rises that indicate problems in electrical, mechanical and structural equipment. Problems that are identified before equipment fails. When performed annually problems may be isolated while they are minor then prevent catastrophic failure, costing hundreds or thousands of dollars in down time. When found early the problem may be corrected as simply as cleaning, tightening or at least scheduled before a larger problem arises.
